February 13 - Melt down

I think icicles are beautiful.  Got up this morning the sun shining cold but sun warm enough to melt the snow on the roof.

February 12 - Reality hits Vacation is over

That much snow in 2 days of snow fall.  It could have been worst but the storm stayed north of us.

February 11 - from temps in the 90's to 9 degrees and snow.

Puppies enjoying the new snow and the return of Mommy and Daddy.

February 10 - Gotta love the lines

Desolate area's of Korea. The lines caught my eye.

February 9 - Is he for real?

The Hotel we stayed at was attached to the Manila aquarium. This was taken in a tunnel the diver appeared out of no where to feed the fish.  The girl was mesmerized at first she did not think he was real till he waved at her.

February 8 - Gotta do what you gotta do

Mopeds - if you can tie it down we can transport it. We will get it there.

February 7 - Water buffalo

The Water Buffalo is considered the most important universally used working animal.  He does not need as much food as the cow, can work harder as long as he gets water brakes, He's stronger in pulling plows, wagons, people and more.

Febraury - 6 No footware allowed.

No foot ware allowed when entering someones house.  It is considered disrespectful.  You are causing the home owner to do extra work by cleaning after you.

February - 5 End of yet another beautiful day

The sunset today was even more beautiful than yesterday (funny how I said that everyday).

February 4 - The only time you can see his invisible friend..

He said "my invisible friend did it, there he is right now! If I jump fast enough I might catch him"

February 3 - my celebrity husband

Dale was asked if he'd like to be interviewed on what his expectations are with the festivities of the week.  We thought he was going to be on the news but instead they put this interview on a commercial promoting the festival for next year.  The church in the back ground is 475 years old.  It was built by the Spaniards, it withstood bombing in WW II by the Japanese and Americans, Natural calamities like Typhoons, floods and earth quakes. Still stands strong today.

February 2 - 7 yrs old but going on 18...

This lil guy caught my eye because of his youth.  He is 7 years old. Instead of enjoying the festivities he's selling balloons to help his parents raise his brothers and sisters.

February 1 - Peek a boo

Kid was so shy I had to peek a boo to get him to look long enough to take his picture.  All the other kids had no problem having us take their pictures except this little guy.

January 31 - Dancing with fire

Folk dance performed by students from my High school. The fire was so hot we can feel the heat from our seats.

January 30 - I love cheap Dinners

This is only 2 of the at least 15 dishes served that night.  We decided to take 12 people out to dinner on us.  We paid under $35.00 to feed all and tip included.  Yeah!  It was an outstanding  meal.  We even brought some home.

January 29 - Is that an Oven?

Who needs electricity or gas for an oven.  Yup our version of oven.  Coal burning at the bottom, a special plate to put the batter for the cake on banana leaves then a can full of hot charcoal burning on top of it.  The cake on the right is the outcome.  Very interesting taste.  Cake consist of flour, grated cassava root, coconut milk, grated young coconut with some sugar.

January 28 - Truch - who needs a truck!

Motorcycle with a side car attached to it is what we call a "Tricycle"   primary use - transport people but if you have to move things it can do that too.

January 27, 2012 Real Fresh

Can't get any fresher than this.  Got up to go to the open market at the crack of dawn.

January 26, 2012

After a 13 hour flight we landed in Korea.  It was a beautiful clean airport.  We got to see the sun actually set instead of following it before it can set.  What a beautiful sunset it was.

January 25, 2012

When you're going west, and you keep going, you literally fly into tomorrow.  This is what it looked like all the way.

Black Ice

That my friends is Black Ice.  I backed out of my garage today had to go over this patch my truck slid right into the grass.  As you can see in in yesterdays picture all the snow had melted.  It rained yesterday melted snow gathered and froze over night.  This stuff is what scares me.

Something I don't see very often

That big white ball is something we don't get to see very often.  It maybe ordinary for everyone in the south but a wonder when it comes out up here.  It's so beautiful  I did not need a sweat shirt.  It was 57 degrees out.  Gotta love it.

The reward for a good day's worth of work

Today the two most important men in my life worked hard to get wood for the fire place.  So I treated them to dinner at Moose Head bar and grill.  This cool stained glass light fixture is made by hand for this bar and grill only.  None of them look the same.

No getting outside today... My camera might freeze! That snow is coming down sideways.

Look it's Mr and Mrs Smiley!

Had to get out before the weather changes.  I finally saw Mr and Mrs Smiley... They parked in the parking lot, I almost knocked on the window to tell them "get a room..".  You can't see what their hands are doing, a just big ole Smile.

Pissed off kitty 11Jan2012

Used to use a feeder to feed the birds but how much fun is that, when I can tease Kitty.  Notice "the look"?

OK.. today is the day

A good friend of mine; Dana (My mentor in landscape photography) did this a few years back.  I thought it was pretty cool.  She is doing it again this year, so I thought I'd join her and have fun too.  Thanks Dana.
